Charlie's Grandfather clock hasn't worked since before his heart attack. The key was broken off in the lock, so I had to get a screwdriver and take apart the lock from the inside. I was able to accomplish this, and I made a latch to hold the glass door open or closed at will (shown below). The next step was to level it. Charlie and I had had a beer when I first arrived, and the two Michelob bottle caps were still on the table, so I used these to level the clock. They were perfect. You can see the two gold bottlecaps if you look carefully . Then the highlight of Sunday evening was staying up until 9:00 (he's working on his endurance), so we talked about Kirkwood and trains until 8:45, which is when we started the pentulum on the Grandfather clock. Lo and Behold, by the next morning, it was still ticking, and right on time!
This concluded Sunday, May 27. I returned to my room, and worked some, and did web pages.
